There is an expression that states, ‘Be The Change You Wish To See In The World’. How you interact with people, what you put out into the world, what you do and how you do it. Have you ever thought that your actions could have an impact on the world?
This is becoming more obvious as I read the increased posts about people unfollowing and unfriending people on social media. You connect with people to expand your network, without really knowing them. Then you become exposed to their way of thinking, and progressively, this has an impact on your impression of them.

Having run the Bloemfontein Chapter of Startup Grind, we had a set of values that governed the purpose of the monthly events. This included put others first and develop authentic relationships. When you’re running a business, of course you want people to buy your product, but remember that it’s more important to develop a relationship with your customers. One that isn’t a one way street of soliciting money out of them.
If you are selling a product/service. You want people to have you at the top of mind, and to return after they’ve paid you. How will you add value? This includes discounts, going the extra mile and attention to detail. Don’t neglect the human element of business and relationships. Even major retailers are striking this balance.
